Experience the wonder of the ancient archaeological site of Pompeii and gain a unique insight into this UNESCO World Heritage Site on a half-day tour.
Meet your local guide and board the coach to depart for Pompeii, passing through the beautiful towns along the Amalfi Coast drive. The first stop will be at one of the region’s most prestigious cameo and coral factories, where you can see the production of traditional Italian carvings.
The guide will then begin a 3-hour guided tour of the ruins. Pompeii was lost for over 1,700 years, partially destroyed and buried under ash and pumice following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore the ancient baths, bakeries, arena, and even the brothel, and discover how life was suddenly frozen in time. Ongoing excavations have revealed statues, skeletons, and everyday tools, offering a fascinating glimpse into the daily life, clothing, and food of the ancient inhabitants.
After the tour, enjoy some free time for lunch before returning to the Amalfi Coast.
Due to current traffic regulations on the Amalfi Coast drive, the last drop-off will be at Amalfi town center. Drop-offs in Positano is not available.
