Meet your local guide for the day and board the coach to depart for Pompeii, passing through the beautiful towns along the Amalfi Coast drive. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided visit of the ruins (approximately 2.5 hours).
In Pompeii, you’ll have the chance to explore one of Europe’s most fascinating archaeological sites. This Roman city was lost for over 1,700 years, partially destroyed and buried under ash and pumice following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pompeii offers a unique insight into daily life in ancient Roman times.
After lunch, depart for Mount Vesuvius. The bus will take you up to 1,000 meters on the volcano, where you will be escorted by a guide to the summit. From here, enjoy breathtaking views over the southern side of the volcano and, on clear days, the entire Gulf of Naples.
On the return journey, stop at one of the region’s most prestigious cameo and coral factories, where you can observe the production of traditional Italian carvings.
Due to current traffic regulations on the Amalfi Coast drive, the last drop-off will be at Amalfi town center. Drop-offs in Positano is not available.
